I need to install some stuff...
i just ordered AE QUAD and have latest JB3 PNP 1.22v, BMS DCI, Forged DV all waiting to be installed. I made scheduled service appointment with the dealer next saturday and would expect to pick it up in following weekday sometime and so i would need to install these once i pick my car up from the dealer.
If any of you guys can help me install JB3, DVs, Intake, please let me know. I will really appreciate all the help i can get from you guys. lunch or dinner with drinks on me for sure... lol I also need to install quad and I would only think that it could be done in the shop. I would love to get some referals from you guys if any of you guys have good experience with any. It will require some cutting so it's better to have professionals to deal with it? any thoughts? thanks guys! |

I'll help you out. I'm not knowledgeable about the actual installs but you might need an extra pair of hands to do something..
Wait a sec, which intake is it? BMS dual? I can def do that, I did it a few saturdays ago.

David,
I installed my AE Duals in my sloped driveway, on Rhino Ramps, by myself. I DON'T RECOMMEND IT REALLY! But it can be done, and I'm not a skinny guy either. It would go easier with one or two helpers. The real bitch is getting the stock exhaust off, putting the AE on is considerably easier. Depending on when you start the work, I can probably swing by and help out. I don't know what gaskets AE includes with their exhaust, but the AR Designs ones are awesome. You should give Nick a call at AE and ask. If they don't come the AR Designs, I'd order them ASAP. Speaking of stuff to install, I need to get my Alcon front BBK and rear SS lines installed too. It is very easy, except I don't have the following: A garage to work in. A jack low enough to get under the car. A power bleeder. The first two are the big problems for me.

Sounds like some fun stuff there.
I had my AE quads installed at Group 2 in Seattle in November (http://group2inc.com/). Really cool group there. As for cutting, are you referring to the diffuser? The exhaust doesn't need any cutting.

I see. I don't think Group 2 is set up for body work like that, but it's worth a shot to ask. I think I paid about $150 for the R&R only, and that included time wasted for me being picky over fitment. Any route, it shouldn't take more than an 1-1.5 hours at labor rate.
I have a two-car garage that you or Scott are welcome to use. I work from home, so I'm around pretty much every day. As for tools, I have the general screwdriver and socket toolbox type set, torque wrench, low-profile jack, jack stands, and rhino ramps. So far it's been enough to do what I've done so far!

are you talking about gasket for the dp that AR is selling? that bomb proof ones? I think I had it with HFCDP but I just sold DPs, figure that it will be major hassle if i need to make a trip to a dealer, just in case... Quote:

If you can clear the rise, they work great though.

I'm Tuan. Nice to meet you. I have garage space and some tools but I dont know if it will be adequate. I was able to put my intakes on though... The JB3 should be mostly plug and play and they DV's should drop right in. I think we'll manage. Where are you in Seattle?

i'm in northgate/shoreline area... yeah sounds like i would just drop by and work some things out in your garage, if that's ok with you... i'll most likely go through the shop for exhaust since i can't install myself and can't imagine anyone's up for going through all that labor... if anyone is up for it however, i'm willing to pay for your effort!!! |

Yo yo - I'm your JB3 huckleberry. I just helped Tony (245sleeper) put his in when he stopped by my house 2 weeks ago. It's pretty easy honestly. Let me know what date you plan on doing it and I'll help out.
