Will there be a price increase for 2007 330i sedan?

I have a situation, i can get a 2006 330i in a couple weeks, or i can wait till november to take delivery of a 2007 330i sedan. I have a TSX that i will be selling, so waiting till november i may have to sell it cheaper and it may be harder to sell closer to xmas time.

What makes more sense, waiting for the 2007 or getting a 2006 right now? Does anyone have the actual pricing for 2007 sedans?

My Sales associate said that there may be a price increase in 2007 for the 330i in the range of $1000-1500 CDN, is this accurate? He based that logic on the fact that there was no price increase from E46 to E90 and that BMW will probably be adjusting the price for the 2007 model to compensate.

There will be no 2007 330i sedan...it will become a 335 sedan.

No, there is no pricing released for '07 Sedans yet.

I expect it to surface sometime in early July, when BMW announces that the 325/330 is replaced by the 328/335.

Do a search on this topic as it has been re-hashed numerous times.

I don't know. But I am hoping the price will not go up. If price goes up, then the 335 will be too expensive for a non-M car. Is there any factor that might jack up the price?

Competitor price, production cost all of which could go up or down.

I would get the 330i now. Why wait till November? The 335 sedan will probably not be out till spring time.

I have read the various posts regarding 2007 335 sedans, but they all seem to be speculation.
My SA said that the 335 will not be offered in sedan, only in coupe in canada, the breakdown he gave is:

2007 Sedan:
323, 325, 330

2007 Coupe;
328, 335

He said that BMW wanted to separate the coupe from the sedan and thats why there is no 335i and 335Ci as in previous years, he said that there will only be 330i sedan and 335i Coupe, i will be calling him today to confirm that i can pre-order a 2007 330i sedan, when i was in this week he said he could take pre-orders on 2007's

To sum up -- no official announcement has been made for the 335i sedan but the buzz around here is that it will replace the 330i. The 335i sedan will be noticeably faster (new 300hp twin turbo engine should make it mid-5s versus low-6s). It will look about the same as the 330i, except with a different twin exhaust (one tailpipe on each side like an Acura TL). Maybe some new color choices. It probably will cost a little more but not a lot more, say around $1K US additional. The first cars are expected to begin production in September, which means that initial orders should be filled, shipped, and arrive in the US in the late September/October 2006 timeframe. Chances are that you won't be able to get a great deal on one right off the bat, but still, it shouldn't be that much more than a 330i.

For what it's worth, knowing all this, I ordered a 330i last weekend. Read the posts and make your own decision. I am happy with mine!

I would get the 330i now since the new 335 will not be cheaper. You might even be able to get a better price with the 335 coming out later in July.

When i brought my e90 330i recently, my sales also said the same thing about the 335 version of the sedan, and he told me that not in a year or two at least......or have any plans to it.

So its up to you as to what you wanted to do, do you want to wait and see or take your chances. If you are considering the coupe, then it is worth the wait. But all these were speculations and rumors. For example, BMW was going to have SMG available for the first year e90, but that didnt happen and we wouldnt know when it will be available.

Good luck!

This subject has been discussed and there was a recent post that the sedan is supposedly coming out this year. My belief is that the sedan will come out in the 335 version but it won't be until next spring or early summer.

I recently went through your same debate and went with a 330i. I didn't want to wait, wanted a 4 door, and I think the 335 will be more expensive. The 330i is no slouch and I am really enjoying it. I am leasing so I am less concerned about trying to sell a 330 sedan when the 335 sedan will be out.

Eh...

I am willling to bet real money that the absolute earliest that a 335i sedan appears [in the U.S.] will be in very late '07/early '08 as an '08 model thus [IMHO] there will in fact be a MY 2007 330i sedan.

Does Lipton make tea? You are dreaming if you don't think BMW will raise the price of the 335 sedan over the 330 sedan. Many people forget that BMW raised the MSRP on the 325/330 sedans mid production (approximately Oct 2005). Folks, unless the competition undersells and makes a comparable vehicle, BMW will raise the price. As Trump says, its business, not personal.

Out of curiosity, how much do you think BMW raised the price on the E46 330 over the 328 which it replaced in the middle of 2000, at a time when the competition was relatively weak (but the dollar was relatively strong)?

Ya' know, your argument does make a lot of sense. But here's a different theory.

Think about the fact that BMW has been planning this motor for a few years now. Just as they must have been planning the 330 replacement to the 328 way back when. Don't you think that BMW expected a competitor like the G35 before they released the 330 in 2000? They were probably fully aware of the fact that the G35 was going to take out their 330 in the straights with 260/280 hp. So they kept the price low.

Enter the 335. Now, this car is going to slay everybody, with the exception of maybe the Suburu WRX STI and the Mitsu EVO, which are cars that never fit really well into this segment to begin with. If you were BMW, and you were selling plenty of these 3 Series cars, particularly the lower priced version 325/328, wouldn't you charge just a little bit more than a $1000-$1500 premium over your previous iteration, whose price increases have been minor (justly so)? They know that there are people looking for this kind of car, (albeit a minority), and they plan to sell a lower volume of this model. This engine advancement is not merely adding .3 seconds to the 0-60 time, its adding almost 1 full second! Granted it may not cost them that much extra to build, but they are going to take everything they can get.

Which brings me to my conclusion that, there can only be one reason that they are upping the power on this car so much & so abruptly, and its not because competition is bothering them so much. Its because they want to collect more money. I say neither 335 Coupe nor Sedan will be under $39,900 in base MSRP.

Within months of release here in Australia, the 3 series base car (each model) had a small increase in price. All options stayed the same.

I called my sale rep yesterday asking him if he had the price on the 335i. I asked me back "you meant the coupe?". That means he didn't even hear about any 335i sedan.
If BMW will release the 335i sedan in the end of this year, 330i owners will be pissed. They will feel cheated.
Anyway, my guess is, if there's any 335i sedan released, earliest in Spring 07, 2 years after the 330i.

so i got a call from my SA today, and told me that the car we tried to get from a different dealership has been sold, so our choices are:

1) Get another car from a different dealership, but with added options such as Active Steering or Comfort Access, in addition to the sports and premium we already want.

2) Order a July production car which will be available for pickup end of august, maybe early sept.

3) Pre-order a 2007 330i sedan for delivery in Nov.

I think we will be going the #3 route, I dont want to pay for options i dont really want and if we order a July production car, i think we might as well wait to order a 2007 and get it in Nov, the crappy thing is i have to wait even longer now He said they would be receiving details on the 2007 3 series models in late Aug/Sept

SA is lying to yah or is just not in the know.

Heck, my CA has already been in the 335 coupe, and is very aware of the sedan. Now thats the kind of guy I want selling me a car. Canada is no different. If they are getting the 335 Coupe, they are getting the 335 Sedan. Ofcourse, I can't confirm this, but it should be accepted as fact.
