Loose and Squeaky Suspension
After only 12,000 miles (20,000 km), my suspension was getting noisy and squeaky over speed bumps. The car was not feeling tight anymore. I took it to the dealer and they told me this is a common complaint and they have a warranty fix recommend by BMW.
The noise was coming from the bump stops on the shocks and noisy sway bar bushing. The dealer replaced these items, and now the suspension is tight again. I have posted the part numbers from the work order. |

Hmmm, wonder if this might be my problem as well. At first I thought it was my KWv3's now I'm beginning to wonder. They will probably deny it now anyway, since it's aftermarket.

I complained about the noisy front suspension when I recently took my 328 in for service. They said they needed to clean something in the suspension and it should be gone. I'll update tomorrow when I pick up the car on what they did.
I have 26000km (16100 miles) on mine.

Got my car back from BJ BMW in Vancouver. Here's what they fixed. I haven't verified it is fixed yet as it's been noisy outside with the wet roads.

I'll post something when I get to drive the car again. It wasn't an intermittent problem so if it's not fixed, I should know right away.

Looks like the squeaking is gone.
It was actually kind of strange not hearing it since I've had it for so long.

Hi all brothers, may I know more on the sound, I know it's hard to describe but I would like to know more as for me, the situation is like:
Everytime, I drive in low speed (especially in car park), I can hear some strange noice from the backside (outside) of my car, it's something like, deeee....deeee....deeee....., very much like electronic or battery leakage (of course not) sound. Also, under slow speed, when I turn the steering wheel to any one side farest, some sound can be heard. Just want to know whether it's the same problem as you. Please advise, thanks. Mine is a 08 335i e93 with 20,000 km milage.

I had the same problem....a bit of a squeak or "boing"-ish kind of sound from the front suspension only, when going over bumps. The SA told me it was because of "dry bushings in the cold weather".......maybe I should take it back now.......f-ers.
Thanks for the info man! |

Quick question. I have a 335i E93. when I drive over bumps, there is a noise coming from the back, like I have two glass bottles in the back knocking together. The car has 18000 miles on it. could it be the same problem?

the suspension bushing problem literally sounds like you jumping on an old mattress ... a dampened spring sound...
ive had this issue in my old C-class benz and the E90 had this issue as well |
