Eibach Pro vs H&R Sport Springs ???

So which ones seem to be the preferred choice?

Background....no need for coil overs. I have my e36 and e30 on completely revises suspensions. For the 1er, just looking to keep close to stock, but lower it and take out some of the floaty feel.

Plan to keep the OE shocks.

Based on previous info from Larry, sounds like the H&R Sports are not specifically designed for the 1er. Larry indicated the part number is the same as the E90.

(Correction, looked today, and H&R Sport p/n 29187 seems to be only for the 1er and not shared among the e90 chassis.)

Whereas I beleive the Eibach is specifically tuned for the 1er. This sounds like a big plus for Eibach. Thoughts?

both are great. I've used the Eibach Pro and Sportsline in my previous cars, and I'm currently on H&R sports with the 135i.

the H&R used to be stiffer than the eibach, but surprisingly on my 135i it is very comfortable.....the big thing is that the H&R has a Massive drop in the front! 1.8" and it looks more like 2"!! the eibach Pro is nowhere near that.

if you want a slight drop, go with the eibach....if you want a very aggressive drop, go with the H&R sport.

The Eibach will give you the least drop and thus is a little less aggressive. If you're planning on keeping your stock shocks, I would recommend the Eibach (although the shocks would still go out much quicker than with stock springs).

I had the Eibach Pro Kit Springs installed with Koni Sport shocks last weekend and will be reinstalling the stock springs this weekend because I feel that the Eibachs are too stiff. If anyone wants to buy the Eibachs, I'll sell them to you for $175, plus shipping. I paid $235.

I have the Eibachs, yes they are alot stiffer than the stock so I hope you dont haave bumpy roads where you live, cuz I do. I got used to it by now the body roll is much less, but if you are a person that gets aggravated by a rough ride......dont get the Eibachs.

Ok, so from this small sampling...it would seem the Eibachs might be a bit stiff for daily use. While H&Rs are compliant for daily use, they are aggressively low in front.

So any thoughts on using thick spring pads with H&Rs so as to keep from having too huge a drop? Extra thick spring pads in the BMW parts bin for the 1er?

Thoughts?

Both are solid setups, you cannot go wrong either way. The Eibach will give you a more even drop, the H&R will be more of a raked look. I prefer the H&Rs over the Eibachs but I don't think there is a wrong choice.

Running H&R Sport springs. Drop was definitely a bit more than I anticipated, but I love the look. Ride is still very good for everday driving. I believe H&R now has 3 different spring choices. OE Sport, Sport, & Supersport.

I'm getting the H&R coilovers installed Monday and wondered if anybody has any feedback on them..Ride height is adjustable but not damping...

That's a perfect drop if you ask me, I love the raked look.

Great thanks. Does it feel like the suspension bottoms out over the hard bumps? Mine feels like it bottoms out, but it could just be too much high speed compression damping causing hydraulic lock. I'm hoping that going back to the stock springs with the Konis will cure the harshness, but still improve the body roll and mushiness of the stock set-up.

As already mentioned, both are a great, solid set-up. I would personlly go with the H&R though, the look and feel that it gives is very planted.

Roger, im not sure if i like the raked look, with the pro kit, you get a even drop...
Maybe ill go with the pro kit.
