Help Identifying DRL Fuse / Power Source for LED Grille

Hi all,

I’m working on adding an LED grille DRL mod to my 2021 BMW 1 Series (F40), and I’m trying to find a safe fuse or power source to tap into. I’ve checked both the BDC (glovebox) fuse box and the engine bay fuse box, but I can’t find a fuse clearly labeled for DRLs.

I know that in modern BMWs, the DRLs are often controlled by the headlight control module, so I want to avoid pulling power from the wrong circuit and causing faults.

Has anyone here successfully tapped a fuse for DRLs or powered an LED grille on a 2021 F40? Specifically:

Which fuse(s) did you use?

Did you use an “add-a-fuse” adapter or tap directly?

Any tips for avoiding module errors, blown fuses, or interference with the DRLs?

Any guidance would be massively appreciated — I’d rather ask before risking a blown fuse or a fault in the lighting system.
