Diesel break in guidelines?

Hi everyone, I've been trolling this site for a few weeks now but time for my first post!

Will be receiving my 123d-M in December, although through the years there has been lots of different advice on driving technique during the break in period, they are almost always for petrol cars. I have heard (even from dealers directly) that diesels can be driven hard right away.

Anybody have an authoritative answer for this?

Thanks for your help!

I drove mine pretty carefully for the break in period. But because of all the torque you can still drive pretty fast even without revving it. You don't need to rev it over 3000 rpms!

I think the manual says not over 3000 rpms and not over 150kph. I may have slightly exceeded that speed limit on an autobahn at one point...

Hi 123D-M, thanks for your feedback, even though many say that diesels can be driven hard right away, I'm definitely going to follow the recommendations... it will be my new baby!
