Installed my OCC today, since I had to install the JB3. Install is very easy. The thing that took me the longest was to position the can the way I wanted it and to find the nut I dropped, so make sure you doint drop anything cause it sux.

Not to sound naive, this is my first turbo car. So what is the purpose of the OCC? Is it just to catch oil from the crankcase breather tubes? Or is there more to it? Thanks.

Me too, actually I dropped two of them. First it was the nut that attached the can to the engine bay and then one of the screws that hold the engine cover on...that one was painful to find. But overall it wasn't too bad with a friend to help me out. I would suggest to RR that for the 09's they make a new bracket cause I had to do some slight modification :roundel:. lol. I'm installing the CDV tomorrow, so I'll let everyone know how that goes.

I wondered the same thing myself... here's what it said on the RR website

Quote:
THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE MUST! Riss Racing's Oil Catch Can takes all the excess oil and moisture in the blow by. Now, you will not have to worry about carbon sludge buildup in your intake, intercooler and turbo. Comes with the authentic Riss Racing logo and site tube which allows you to see exactly how much oil is being caught. Anybody can do the test. Take off the intake, and run your fingers on the inside wall of the tubes leading to the turbos. What do you see? You can do the same for your intercooler down to the actual turbo housing. Cleaner engine means more performance!

Could this be the same catch can in the game "world of goo"????

You decide.

One thing is for sure, you can't live without both of them!

anthony@rissracing, I thought you might get a kick out of this...you gotta try the game!
