Congrats Matt.

After 330 miles in mine over 3 days my wheels are now caked in brake dust so I know what you mean.

Also agree about the v slight lag but like you I have no comparison to make with a pre v29.2 and I can't say it bothers me any.

I'll have another 400 or so on it by the end of the weekend, and the 1200 mile break in done by the 2nd weekend in October. Although, to be fair, it's not like you have to rev the nuts off this thing to get it to shift, so the 4500rpm threshold isn't exactly a problem.

I think I've worked out most of the menus and little bits of gadgetry now, and I have to say that I'm very pleased rear PDC is standard in the UK. It's going to take me a while to get used to judging the back end after having two hatchbacks in a row which were both "chopped off".

I'm also a bit paranoid about having to parallel park at the weekend in my friend's very narrow road. I've got visions of kerbed alloys after a couple days!

The instantaneous fuel economy was staying around 42.9mpg when I found a nice flat stretch of the M25 where I could set it at 70mph and leave it for a bit. I'll be very impressed if that's vaguely accurate with the engine being so new. Time to set up a quick spreadsheet and make sure I keep fuel receipts for a while I think
I do alot of motorway driving matt and i dont drive that slowly. i have driven 3.5k in the car so far and the MPG has averaged out at 26.1 for me....

Really good luck with the car...i still get very excited about driving it....its a beauty and easily the best car i have ever had....

Congrats with the new car, my car is just about to hit 7000 miles and is getting quicker with every mile!

Had a play recently with both a Z4 3.0Si Coupe and a 530d and was all over both of them... pretty easy

The car is very quick, but I do want to go faster, will be reviewing the remap option, but looking for a used SSTT at the moment.

My fuel consumption is okay, but not great. If I take it easy I get 29ish on the motorway, but around town 22-23.

I am averaging 24-26 overall which is good compared to the 3.2 TT and 350Z but I still don't get more than 220 miles on average from a tank of juice!

The car performs great mpg until you average 85+

I also got 32mpg sticking at 75-80, but it was SO BORING!!

The TT-S is a pretty good car - but it's still a noisy old 4 pot

I think esscolab might be considering selling his SSTT if he goes for the remap option from one of the other threads.

My jaunt up to the midlands at the weekend yielded an actual 31.2mpg, so I was pretty happy with that, although I was 80 or under most of the way with just a few "tests" to show the acceleration after my mate asked to see what she could do, and some twisties in south Derbyshire. I'm sort of trying to stick to the break-in though, so I haven't absolutely booted it yet.

I'll have another 1k+ miles to do over the next 3-4 weeks as well, so I'm trying not to do those at 19mpg, as when combined with my train fares into London for work my overall monthly transport costs would be astronomical!
Matt,

Car looks great - welcome to the club.

Regards the SSTT, you should be able to get one direct from Split Second for ~$500 now (that's about £320 including import duty). I went this way and apart for a fiddly install I have had no problems at all. The car is just so much faster on boost than stock, and is getting quicker still as it gets colder this time of year.

Mad.
