Slotted and drilled rotors do not improve braking performance. The only thing that will help you is upgraded pads. Drilled and slotted rotors are a looks only upgrade.

That is absolutely correct! It does help with heat dissapation though I should add. I guess with the weight saving of the BMW Performance one, it is justifiable.

Maybe slightly, but are you really every pushing your car in the rain? I think you could spend the money are other parts and see greater results.

Not sure if you have them but a basic street suspension upgrade or upgraded tires and wheels would save more lbs than rotors and improve braking performance.

I hear KW make a good kit...

I am not seeing that at all. Since switching to the pref rotors, I have seen less dust.

Nice. Who is going to buy these take-off 135 brakes and install them on the 128? Deals.

For MOST people, aftermarket vented rotors are all thats needed. The majority of people's cars will never see such track temperatures, and as already states it is mostly an aesthetic mod for street cars.

As for for the performance aspect, I would take Slotted rotors over drilled any day, drilled rotors have been prone to warp and stress crack more over slotted; and yes these type rotors do wear out pads a lot faster.

I'll be interested in those when it happens.

Slotted rotors do have a purpose. I guess for some applications (reduction of mass for motorcycles), drilled rotors have some functionality as well (along with allowing trapped gasses to escape), but for cars I am also of the impression that it mostly cosmetic.

Race cars use slotted rotors - the slots clean the pads and allow the trapped gasses to escape.

Scott is right, the slotting is really only for cleaning the pad. Drilling is really a moot point for most people since modern pads don't gas like old pads did. The best thing to do is to go with a 2-piece rotor and save a few pounds (or kg) of weight of un-spring mass.

BMW rotors: less weight and look great! I feel like a beer commercial.

Still nothing for the rears yet? I don't want to do just the front I think it may look off balance. Just my opinion
