wax for the lazy

my car is a daily driver, and I'm way too lazy to deal with zaino

sugestions for a wax? I was planning a dawn wash, then claybar and a canuba coat, and once every couple months another canuba

i just used turtle wax ICE and it was easy and smells great

I doubt given how lightly and easily the stuff goes on though that it will last more than a month. I see myself using quick detailer on weekends to keep the shine. Then every month I will apply new wax.

actually zaino IS a pretty good wax for the lazy. you invest a lot of time at the start, but the sealant lasts a very long time. i use Klasse AIO + SG (one more step than you are looking to do), and it stays nice for a good 2-3 months depending on the weather and how much the car sits outside.

carnauba wax starts to wear off after a couple of weeks, so you'll be doing it more often than every couple of months.

Agreed, Zaino is a wax for the lazy. I use to use carnuba waxes but found it didn't last as long, was more time consuming to apply/remove, and didn't protect from harmful debris/sap/bird crap. Zaino will take some time, but you'll do it less frequently, and touch-up is easier and faster.

P.S. get a orbital buffer from your local car parts store. Not needed for Z2/Z5 Zaino application, but useful for buffing and when you using their gentle cleaner wax/swirl remover.

If your gonna dawn and clay it, why not just use something quality and do it right the first time?

ok, so use Klasse instead.

instead of your Dawn + clay + wax = looks great for 2 weeks

do Dawn + clay + Klasse AIO + Klasse SG = looks great for 2 months


1 more step saves you more than a month of waxing

Takes me only about 45 minutes to apply Zymol Creame or Carbon (ca. 37% carnauba) and it lasts 3 months.

Zaino is easy as pie to apply and remove. If you have any problem removing it, you are using way tooo much of it.

Collinite 845 IW is very easy to use, and pretty doggone durable. It looks very nice, and holds up against the winters we get here.

I have no experience with Zaino, though it is a favorite of many.

If using Klass SG, be sure to use AIO first. SG doesn't like to bond to anything other than AIO.

If you're really lazy, don't bother with the wax and just use a California car wash brush to knock the dust off.

ZAINO is easy to use. Follow the directions, apply very sparingly, wait 30 mins for it to dry (or longer) - then wipe it off with a cotton towel. It does not drag like carnuba products.

The first treatment takes a little more work, especially if you need to use the claybar. But after that, it is easy. A lot easier than Carnuba.

I went with nx 2

but I've got some little stains on the paint I cant get out, tree sap or something, suggestions?

Mega, I have used most of the products that have been on the market during my 60 years on this earth and found Zaino to be the most fun, easiest to apply and maintain, and the best protecting polish for my car's finish...inside and out...the shine is just the great side-effort of using Zaino.

If you are a lazy person when it comes to the finish on your car then Zaino is the product you should use because you do not have to use it often. And as for those stains you now are referring to...if you had detailed your new ONE with the Zaino product right after you took deliver you wouldn't have to be spending all the time it's going to take to get rid of those stains:iono:

When I want to start over I always start with Dawn dish washing liquid using just a few caps full in a bucket of clear water to strip the car's finish down to the clear coating before clay barring and starting my polishing applications.

They're a lot of great products on the market to use on your car's finish...I just happen to like Zaino the best because it works for me instead of me having to work for it! I will admit to being a Zaino Enthusiast and yes I am excessive/compulsive...I do own a ONE the last time I checked my wallet:wink:

so dawn is completely safe for your paint? I'm about to do Z-5 & ZFX on my brand new 128i, but slightly afraid to put dishwashing detergent on the new paint.

yes, it's safe if you're doing a polish and wax (or sealant) right after. dishwashing detergent by design strips off any dirt and oils/greases, which makes it great for stripping off residual wax and polish so you can start fresh.
