KW V1 vs V2
How many people who buy V2 honestly use the adjust rebound function?. I daily drive with 1 or 2 track sessions a year. I am seriously thinking that the v2 may not be worth the extra $300 especially since i would probably never mess with the rebound.

Bump for answers. Im on the fence also about this. With the same driving habits. just a few track days a year is about it.

I'd say go V1 if you don't track often
Adjustability is great if you know how to use it. If you don't, it'll cause more headache then it's worth You can actually make your car handle worse than stock if you don't properly set up your suspension. On my daily drivers that have coilovers, I tend to set them once and forget. The suspension on my Eclipse are in the same settings as what I set it 8 years ago. Now, if you're competitive or think you may be competitive, get the V2', hell go big and go V3's. At the track we tested all the KW Variants and each swap dropped a couple of seconds off the lap time. One of the things I love about KW stuff is that even the higher line products like the V3's are very streetable and still great for daily driving duties. |

There is no difference other then the damp and rebound adjustability between the V.1 and V.2, both of course already offer the height adjustment.
As EvolutionRaceWerks has already stated there is really no point in getting what you won't really need. Most people do just (like that cooking oven commercial) set it and forget . |

I've always been a suspension guy, so I say, YES, I think that it is worth it. Some will say that it isn't worth getting that extra damp adjustability, but personally I see the Variant 2s are a perfect compromise between the V1 and V3, just in the middle and you can adjust it whenever you want for whatever road/track condition.
Also a pro for KW is that if you get it from an AUTHORIZED DEALER, such as ourselves, your set is back by the life-time warranty from manufacturers defects. |

For $300 it's worth it IMO. If you track just a few days out of the year it's still worth it. Obviously it's a long term investment and I personally would rather have it and use it sometimes than need it and not have it.

If I just replaced the stock spring/shock with KW 1 or KW 2, how much improvement over the stock set-up or do I still need to replace the front and rear sway bar to get the maximum benefit? I do not track often but I do appreciate a firmer set-up than stock with less body roll. What do you think?

+bump for Answer on this. I have KW V1's (not yet installed) and I was wondering about this as well
@My135: know of any good places in the ATL area for installs? I am about 4 hours away(Hilton Head/Savannah area) but have not heard of any places around here. |

I personally would go with the V1s. The Dampening is nice to have but I have not once changed the dampening settings on my PSS9s in over 2 years and I regularly autox my E46. I don't see the reason to pay for the V2s if you are not going to really take advantage of those settings.

If you don't mind, the KW V1s should be fine with tracking. V2s are for occassional tracking sessions, so you should be fine with the V1s. Just so you know, the KW V1s are like the stock sport suspension feel, except it's a little more stiff. But if you end up enjoying the track field, and you go more than 1 or 2 a year, you might want to start considering the V2s. Think ahead

It all depends on how you use your car and how serious you are about setting it up....this also included how knowledgeable you are on properly setting up your car...
About 95% of the guys out there will be more than happy with the V1's of the remaining 5% the majority of those will play with it for a bit...after driving it around the block and never touch it again...and then there are the very small percentage that will actually truly use it to it's fullest potentiality... So if you get the V2 or V3 and set it and forget it...then remember you were warned of this happening..haha |

I would go with the V1's only because a member who actually tracks a 1 series said so, the info given by vendors might be biased towards more expensive equipment for obvious reasons.
