Some help tuning coilovers
Looking for some help from the resident suspension experts.
Installed the Bilstein PSS10 coilovers and haven't adjusted them much. I dropped the car .25" from the bottom. Based on the specifications, max drop is 1.75", so I've dropped it 1.5"., seems a bit lower to me. Anyhow, I began with the dampening set at 1/10 f&r and moved it to 4/10 f&r recently. When taking hard turns, it seems that the car is quite bouncy and it seems like something is unbalanced. As I apply additional throttle on the turn exit, the traction lights blink so it's trying to break traction for some reason. I can take sweepers beautifully, car remains very flat and rides on rails. I'm trying to figure out if it's an alignment/corner-balance issue (not done yet), spring rate issue, dampening issue, ride height issue, or rake issue. Seems the front end is about .25" lower then the rear. Any ideas from the my fellow addicts? |

I spent a bunch on a TC Kline setup, and I wasn't that happy with it when I first installed it. Once I had somebody set it up, including corner weighting, it was a totally different car.
I would suggest taking it to a suspension/racing expert that has the tools to do proper corner weighting, alignment, and a good idea of rough settings for damping/rebound/height |

For the record, Got my car corner balanced and aligned. While getting this done, the shop owner saw that my front left sway link was disconnected.
A friend of mine finished up the front left as I did the front right suspension install so I don't know if he overlooked that, or if the bolt came out. I doubt the latter. Very very pleased now with the car. A world of difference. |
