Getting my car this weekend. What is the first layer I should put on?

I've asked the dealer to wash and clean the car but not to wax.

I had planned on putting multiple layers of zaino on it on the first day. Is this enough to protect the paint?

I'd like to put a sealant on but have no idea where to start.

suggestions? :iono:

Start here with Zaino.

Yes, the Zaino layers will be MORE than enough; the stuff last for months if you do it right.

After you wash with Dawn and clay your car, I recommend a layer of Z5 first to fill in any swirls and scratches from the dealer, then multiple layers of Z6 and Z2 to bring out the shine. Combine ZFX with the Z5 and Z2 polishes as well. I did this for my MINI when I first got it and I was ecstatic with the results.

I wouldn't use Z5... You're car is brand new and wont have swirl marks in it. To prevent swirl marks to, don't wash your car in circular motions... do long straight motions with whatever you use to wash your car. I also spray off my spounge before putting it back in my bucket of carwash. This is what I did. Wash the car with dawn to remove all wax. Claybar the whole car to remove any contaiminates altho I feel like it was kind of a waste of time.... wash again with regular car wash. I used mothers gold car wash. I dried it with a leaf blower that is only used for drying my car... Then I did Z2 with ZFX. Wait 30 mins... remove with 100% cotton terry towel and Z6. Z2 w/ ZFX again and remove same way... Last step was ZCS. I HIGHLY recommend ZCS with the applicator zaino sells. The shine is out of this world!! This process took me a good 6hrs id say but well worth it.... goodluck

sigh,,, too late. my first layer was Z5. Did I F' up my paint?

It looked good. I only had enough time to put one layer on it. Next weekend I'm gonna do another layer of Z5, then a first layer of Z2.

The next weekend will be another session of Z2/Z5/Z2.

would this work?

No big deal. My car DID have swirls from the dealer, so z5 was my first coat. Your car is dark, Z5 always looks good on dark cars.

I highly doubt you ruined your paint. I will say tho, you should definatly invest in ZFX and Z-CS.... well worth the money!!

Z5 Pro is actually recommended for dark colors on brand new cars. According to a sticky at e90post, you don't even need to use Z2 PRO unless you have a light colored car.
