Thumbs up

Total respect for taking out your center console and hitting trim pieces with a dremel for the cleanest install yet of the remote switch. (IMHO)

I’m in total awe – the result looks great; I just don’t think I could pull out that much trim to copy you.

I need to take some pictures when I get home, I put mine right below the drivers side heated seat buttons. You can buy a remote hardwire mute button from escorts website, cuts down on alot of soldering / wiring.

Yea I would like to see some pics of that. I was thinking of putting my garage door opener button there.

The reason i put the mute button there is out of convenience. When I’m resting my arm on the armrest it an easy reach down to hit the mute button. Don’t have to move or even look down to find it. Bit of safety built in too, not having to take your eyes off the road.

That seems really cool, post pics when you are done.

I really wanted to wire the radar into the unused buttons on the steering wheel, but I would of needed wiring schematics and stuff I couldnt find.

Got some pictures, looks good from farther back The camera shows nicely where I got a little extra glue on the back... Didn't end up removing anywhere near as many interior panels for the install. There is a gap between the windshield and the dash that I was able to fish the wire through from the fuse box area then run to the radar detector.

Very nice work in this thread. Thanks for the pics.

I was considering doing something like this, but after getting popped in a laser trap a few weeks ago I'm thinking of just upgrading to the full hidden 9500 with the laser shifters.

Quick Question, where did you find the Audio Mute Wire? I see where you put the read out under the seat warmers, is it back there somewhere, I am trying to do a somaler install right now.

Also, what color is the wire?????? Blue/Black???? (I have a 2012 135i)

Similar question, I also have a 2012 135i and I'm just wondering how do I go about just hardwiring the radar? Not really sure where the fuse box is, and where would be the best place to hide the wires? Would really appreciate the help...I'm a real noob at this stuff.
