Boston Chapter BMW CCA Autocross Video of my 135i 7/27/2008

Hi guys... yesterday, I mounted my camera mount to my door handle to try to get a different perspective instead of standard in car, out the windshield view.

This was my fastest run of the day, and I think I killed my class by probably 2 seconds.

Lemme know what you think!

I had to cut the sound.. there was just too much wind noise. You can see the camera mounted in the photo below:

Proof positive that no rubbing occurs (or else I would be tearing the tires to shreads with that much compression!)

Holy moly, lonnnnnnnnng course!

Looks nearly custom designed for 135i.

Driving looked smooth, nice rythym in the many many slaloms.

Did you down shift on the turnaround, I could tell for sure?

No downshift. There's enough torque to be going way too fast going into the next slalom already.

We have great courses and course designers. That was a 76 second run. Most people were in the mid 80's. I just like that there are no obstacles and you can easily have 4-5 cars safely running at once.

:w00t: Great run! Very smooth - you kept a nice aggressive attack on the pylons going throughout. The long, open course looks like a lot of fun and plenty challenging.

That course was made for no understeer.

You looked smooth and fast.

We had bad weather forecast for the afternoon, and left it with minimal really tight spots, even though there were two 180 degree pivot cones.

I would up having to call the event, just in the nick of time, after having the day turn into nighttime dark skies, and seeing funnel clouds forming. We got out of there with no time to spare. The lightning and torrential rain came just as we were throwing the last of the gear in the club autocross van.

I'm running 245/40/17 Dunlop Z1 Star Specs on all 4 corners. I got them thinking they would be slightly smaller in width than the 255 Neovas, but the stack of 4 Neovas next to the (supposedly) smaller Star Specs made me realize they are the same width. Both stacks of 4 tires were identical in height.

I should have/could have kept the Neovas, and saved a chunk of cash.

My 255 rubbing issue was that darned tab in the front fender liner that attaches the front plastic bumper cover to the fender. Once I doctored that, no rubbing. The 255's could have stayed on the LTW5's. Live and learn, tell others, and try to prevent them from making costly mistakes like I did....

I sold the 4 Neovas that only had 6 autox events on them for $160 for the set. TONS of life left in them.
