Xenon update?

Recently the starting point of an oldtimer rally we attended was at a dealership so while everyone was having breakfast and preparing I looked around and noticed that both the 1 series convertible as the coupe that were in the showroom had different xenons than the ones in the brochure.
Don't have pics of the actual cars but I found pics to compare on the net (they're hatchbacks but effect is the same).

Does anyone know if there's been an update or why the center lenses are 'clear' now?

Pics:

hmmm, interesting. I have the top set but I had no idea they were different than others. Anyone know why? I would love to know.

Bottom one is a xenon setup without cornering/adaptive lights (or slim chance it is pre-facelift).

I think US models have cornering lights as standard.

Since I saw them at the dealership... maybe they do? Don't know for sure.

The pre facelift hatches had the clear centers indeed, but these photos only count as an example since I've seen the clear ones on both the coupe and convertible at the dealership (which have the facelift headlamps I suppose).

So if I get it right, you're saying the adaptive headlights have the non-clear centers? So that would mean nearly every pic I've seen of a coupe on this board is a 1 series with adaptive headlights? Is that stock on the 135i?

Nothing on the car has changed. Euro 1ers have projectors on the inner most lens of the headlight. The US models don't. It has always been this way.

Only when they don't have the corning/adaptive headlight option. Outside of US Xenons and Cornering Lights are separate options/features.

That's correct. I recently upgraded my FL 120d to bi-xenons but not with the adaptive/cornering headlight option. This is the photo on the blue E87 above.

Another thing to note is that middle lens actually just lights the corona rings. Other than that, it doesn't do anything else...:iono:

Surely there is a mod waiting there for someone to find a use for it?
