First scheduled service - What's yours say?
Saw the "how many miles poll", and thought I'd ask a related question.
When you start your car, it displays how many miles to service 1. It's supposed to come out to around 15000 miles, but BMW has it programmed so that if you drive it hard, that interval is less, but most people have it show that they'll need service 1 at about 18000 miles. I'm at 5425 miles, and I show 8000 miles to my service. That means my first scheduled service will be at around 13425 miles. Let's see some of your numbers!!! I guess it comes down to who is hardest on their cars. |

I sort of liked the earlier system which started out at around 15,700 and counted down to the nearest 100 miles or so, rather than the current 1,000 mile increments. At any rate, mine reads 14,000 to go and I have 2,800 fairly easy miles on the odometer.

5717 on the odometer and 10,000 to service.

2,160/13,000. The freeway trip to the mountain playground is about the same length as the higher-altitude Tom-foolery.

Mine is about the same. I took mine in for a oil change after break-in and the service manager looked at me like I was nuts. "You know that is synthetic oil, you don't need to change it for 15,000 miles." Just change the oil, please.

About 2600 miles on the ODO with 14000 mi service indicator. When my car goes back in for the alarm (if they ever get it to work) I will insist on the Interim Change.

I get 21.5mpg on my 128i (manual)
I'm at 11367 and 6000 miles 'till service. However, I'm slightly concerned, because I had my car go in for bodywork (somebody hit my car over night - happens when you live in the city). When I got the car back, it said ### / 2007 'till service.. so I changed my clock back to 2009. Makes me wonder if my service is really correct, because it should have never said 2007. Any ideas? |
