Sprint Booster installed- WOW!!!

I decided to get Andrew@SouthernBM to install a set of sprint booster in my car. The process only took a few mins as Andrew has done this before and knows what he was doing. Thank goodness it wsn't me doing it.

We took the car for a quick spin after the install. The first stab on the throttle reveals a car that has comletely transformed in its throttle response! The accelerator is now so sensitive and the lag that you feel when you step on the accelerator is completely gone! I took a very good mental note on the throttle response on the way to Southern BM, and the first 1/4 inch or so yields nothing. Now, every mm of throttle movement moves the car! The car now response immediately when I step on the acceleratr. I think for the 125i guys this will be even more evident. I wished I had found out about this device when I still had my GTI. Could really do with it. No it doesn't give you more horsepower, but it's exactly the same principal as the sports button on a M3 or Carrera. It makes it FEEL faster and much more enjoyable to drive!

Andrew, your shop is excellent (you guys shold see the range of high performance bimmers there!) and is just what an enthusiast like myself who wants to improve on the car that BMW has built! It was good to finally meet you too.

Ha Ha, me too, i had a great time, i just finished writing up in the other thread how much fun we had today, one of those great days, then all of a sudden the wife's are ringing on the mobile phones, (where are you!!!) It was great to catch up and chat and see the excitement on your face when you could feel so much difference in your car, and the follow up mobile phone texts on your way home gives me a huge satisfaction that is hard to explain.

See you again soon,

Does the installation of the Sprint booster affect warranty from BMW? Is it detectable? Where is it installed?

No it isn't detectible and you can remove it at any time. It's just a little computer chip installed below the accelerator.

Haha I couldn't help it. I pulled over to text you after I pressed on the accelerator at 60kmh in 5th and the car just pulled hard. Gave me a massive grin. I could have been driing a 911 turbo with the responsiveness of the accelerator!

Glad to hear the 1st of the mods on our 1ers has been done by Andrew.

Mind if I ask the RRP of what sounds like a 'must have' mod?

The sport button on my Z4 3.0 made the throttle quite touchy and wasn't really ideal for the bumpy Sydney roads. If you went over some bumps in 1st gear through an intersection the car would do a partial kangaroo hop!

Does the sprint booster exhibit similar properties?

Secondly, is this something that could be addressed through a flash down the track? (don't want to double up if I can get the same benefit as part of a flash down the track).

This is my first post on the forum. I haven't even got a 135i yet, but about to place an order ... and I'm already looking at performance mods. Sheesh!

The Sprint Booster website provides a generic installation guide:

Anyone know if this mod is something that will be noticeable in the 125i?
