Talking Zuzu & I did the golf tee mod....

To my car this morning. Very very easy. I just wanted to test the sound quickly.

Reach under your car, you'll see the rubber hose that attaches to the left side of the muffler, remove that hose and stick a golf tee in. Start car and observe the changes

Pretty drastic increase in sound!! As I didn't have a cable tie with me (do now) i put the pipe back on the exhaust actuator.

Its wooden So it would have caught fire! lol no, its a plastic tube so its no where near any heat.

Professor, it just opens the full exhaust from idle rather than only open up the full exhaust from 3000rpm.

This reminds me of me in the Merc yesterday. There was some road construction in Camberwell and workmen were directing the traffic flow with the lollipop. When I got near the guy with the lollipop, he gave the ok to go, and I booted the car. He jumped back and later gave me the thumbs up. It really shocked him though! Lol. I sometimes forget how loud that V8 lump is from the outside!

This mod has been circulating on the BabyBMW site for a few months. I did it on my 130i a while back - the extra burble from the exhaust sounds good.

I did the golf tee mod on my e46, back in 1998. It's been around for a while.

I actually think the C63 sounds better, especially when you have a cold start. It really sounds like a race car! Actually they sound rather similar. The best sounding engine is the AM V12 in the DBS.

Any audio of the mod in action? Love to hear stock vs. golf tee special.

Teehee! You forgot to add "and thinking of exorbitantly-priced imported LSDs".
Any chance you'll be trading in your c63 after a year too?!

Haha yes, I forgot the LSD. I was actually thinking about that. Let's see if we can get a group buy! You know my idea of getting a LSD mule (lol), it isn't such a bad idea if we have 3 or 4 people interested! I have been thinking about this. I really want to do it especially with the auto gearbox final gear. Along with AA processor our cars will be a rocket!
