Well actually - Alex mentioned alarm. Alex you are speaking of the alarm installed by the dealer? Because there is no 'standard' alarm installed by default on the car. If it is the dealer installed BMW alarm ALex is asking about, did we ever determine if it does 'honk' the horn?

We could not see any lights flashing anywhere in the inventory parking lot, and we drove and drove and drove, until we finally discovered the car. It was indeed hard to find! I kept laughing to myself that if the car had only emitted just a tiny little chirp, we would have found it instantly!

^ when I bought my ZHP, just over 2 years ago, I was quite unhappy that there were no chirps or honks from the keyless system. However, 2 years later, it doesn't bother me, she can stay silent and stealthy. Let the honda's and nissans chirp and honk. At night, the interior lights will tell you if you un-locked it, and day or night the turn signals will tell you if you locked it...
