Tint ticket VC 26708 (a)(1)

Tint ticket VC 26708 (a)(1)
I got a front windows tint ticket on the 405 South around Long Beach area. The violation code is 26708(a)(1). I assumed it was a fix it ticket but when I looked at the ticket again, the "Correctable Violation" box is checked NO. Is this a moving violation worth 1 point or is it a fix it ticket? Is there a way for me to just pay the fines and keep my tint? How much is this ticket going to cost?

Sorry to hear about that. I'm not from CA, but good luck getting it resolved.

The officer can check yes or no, its his discretion. I THINK by checking NO it forces you to see a judge to fix it. You could pay the hefty fine and keep your tints on I think.

My experience with a NO check was with no drivers license in my possession and my option was pay $160, or set a date and show my ID to the judge and pay $10. In reality you sit through the trials, the judge goes to his chambers for a break and the clerk and bailiff signed me off after showing them my drivers license. Basically just a hassle, cops who want to make it hard on you do it. When I went to the Sheriffs dept to get it signed off the lady asked what A-hole checked no for you.

Either way its not a moving violation and you dont get a point.

Thank you. I'll just have to take a day off to go get it signed off.

Just wondering, what % tint do you have on the front?

I got one of these about a year back i could have taken it in for a fix it or paid 118 bucks. I just paid the 118 bucks cause i was just going to get it put back on i heard from a friend that some tint installers will do the first reinstall free after a fix it ticket.

15% in the front???? Isn't that pretty much asking for trouble in California?

Yeah, it is. My friend has a black on black truck with limo tint all around... I don't how he hasn't gotten caught yet.

I have 35% in the front, no problems so far.

I got the same ticket a few months back. You have no choice but to get it signed off. It cost $10 for the processing fee and you have to show proof of correction (the signed off ticket). So if you know someone that can sign it off for you its only a $10 ticket. If you get it taken off you can go to a local law enforcement agency to get it signed off. Be careful you dont have any other mods or things such as no front plate or the bored desk officer might write you up.

next time GTA4 his a$$. j/k. find a fellow addict w/out tint and switch plates. or find a Beemer around the same yr. w/out tint and switch plates. have a cop sign it and and pay your $10 processing fee. the ticket and courtesy notice doesnt have a VIN# of your car for the cop to tell. after he signs it, photo copy it and save it for the next ticket.
