Picking up my car Friday at Calgary BMW!!

Anyone else picking up their car on May 23rd? Hoping I have someone to share the ludicrous excitement with.

Just got off the phone with Calgary BMW. I'm scheduled to pick mine up on Thursday, May 22nd.

I'm dreading making the call, and I haven't got the call from them yet, even though they promised a 2 week heads-up and my conservative, initial delivery date is in 2 weeks. Am I crazy? no, I have blocked it out of my head because my Jetta hasn't sold. How bad is doubling up? will they refuse my credit application for having 2 cars at the same time? it's not half as a bad as a mortgage, which I have been pre-approved for many times (but don't have one)?

edit: I got brave and tried to make the call; they're closed now, so I will have to wait until tomorrow.

Ah I was able to get it Thursday but I felt like waiting until Friday so I have the whole weekend.

Yup.. I'm one of the younger ones.. but it's sort of a graduation / new job present to myself. I'm going to do tons of pics.. I hope to get a lot of little details of the interior for people on the boards.. something I've found to be lacking so far.

I feel your pain Stefan! My car arrived at the train yard in Vancouver Thursday. It normally takes a few days to get processed and to the dealer but the long weekend here has slowed that up a bit! I should have my car by Wednesday. Too bad I didn't have it for this weekend...sunny and 30 today so it would be a day for some driving. Getting very excited!!!

Yeah, and it really looks like sea-to-sky will be the one to drive with all those upgrades they've been doing for the olympics.

guys! I am pretty sure that I am no more than a week behind in delivery date... but I can;t get excited because I can't sell my other car!!!!

Why not just trade it in? Selling a car privately is almost never worth the hassle. Plus you get the GST credit on the trade-in.

they were supposed to call me 2 weeks before delivery to appraise my car as well, they haven't. I believe that if I trade it in I will "lose" a FEW thousands. it IS the worst casescenario. Remember I also have to take the amount I get from trade in and top it off to pay off the financing from VW.

I don't know the exact day it arrived. My saleman sent me an email the last weel of April telling me my car had arrived in Halifax. Then I got an email on the weekend of May 3rd saying it was enroute by train to arrive in Annicis Island by May 18th. It arrived Annicis early on the 15th and is awaiting processing. I haven't been following my car on the trip using the shipping sites...I have just been updated by my salesman.

Around the last week of April, it was in Halifax. Same as above.

ok, mine arrived on the 30th. that tells me your cars got to halifax probably on the 23rd.

Mine arrived in Halifax on April 25th. So 4 weeks from arrival to delivery.

hey, so it sounds like my delivery date will be on the 24th at the latest. my car will be here this week.
