Rogue SSK Installed and Awesome!!!

I went to Rogue yesterday and had the SSK installed by Ben. The shifts are so much better, more of a solid feel. I highly recommend this product to anyone that has a manual tranny. The whole install took little less than an hour. I'm looking forward to the Rogue exhaust to come out.

What was your total cost for the part and install?

It was $265 for the SSK + $85 bucks for install + tax.

hey can you post some pics? I'm really interested in this too but I kinda fear that the shifting mite become too jointy ....

No noises from the transmission/shifter. I will try to take some pictures tonight, but there's not much you can really tell. I still have the stock shift knob. I did have Ben shorten the rod about 1/4 to a 1/2 inch so that the knob sits lower then the stock setting. The shifts I feel are more solid gives it more of a sporty feel compared to stock.

Sorry guys - I haven't been able to take any pics yet. I'll try to do it over the weekend. So far no issues with the shifter...still loving it. I'll keep you posted.

Are there any disadvantages to a SSK? I'm at my dealership right now and i was just playing with the M roadster and i love the feel of the shorter stick/shorter throw. Would i be better off just getting a shorter stick?

I don't think there is any disadvantages to the SSK. If you want the shorter throw, get the Rogue SSK.

How does it wear the synchro's more? Is it due to the extra weight of the shift linkage? I've been looking into this and it looks like it's pretty well made and a reasonable price. Especially when new shift knobs alone cost half as much as this.

Any short shifter will cause premature syncro wear. The added pressure wears out the syncros a little earlier then the original shifter.

I was reading the write up and it seems with the weighted shift linkage, the notchiness is much less than stock, which is amazing when considering its a shorter throw. Traditionally, a shorter throw gives more notchiness.

The price is right - I wonder how involved the install is for a DIY w/average wrenching skills.

The Rogue, unlike the B&M SSK, requires access from underneath the car for installation. I understand part of the exhaust has to be dropped, but I'm not sure about that.

I was watching Ben from Rogue do the install on my car. He did not touch the exhaust. He did go underneath the car, but only removed the panels.

Sounds like a lift would make the install much easier either way.
