Track/Dragstrip in NYC area?
My pops just got a Maserati Quattroporte.
I want to find a safe and legal place where he can really see what his car can do. I don't know anything about race tracks. Can someone point me in the direction of info for places around NYC, preferably on Long Island near Port Washington? |

There is NOTHING on the Island that I am aware of. Sadly, the old Bridgehampton circuit closed years ago.
I think the closest to us in Lime Rock in CT.

check out SCCA (and NY Regional SCCA Chapter), NASA (and NASA Northeast Chapter), BMWCCA, etc. and find out what's brewing in your neck of the woods...

Look into Englishtown, NJ. There is raceway park which has a dragstrip and just built a road course. Its probably an hour and half to 2 hours from you and the closest track around. It sucks we dont have anything close. There is also a track in the Poconos probably atleast a few hours away. I also head of this track called Thunder something that is openening in NJ but no idea when and where.
Im completely new to the whole tracking thing and also looking for a place and club to get into thats local. Ill update if I ever find anything. Good luck on the hunt! Enjoy that car!! |
