Aussie Insurance Premium Estimates for the 1er

I checked a couple of insurance sites to see if they'd had been updated with the 1 series coupe. Here are some of the estimates based on a rating 1 30+ driver, leasing the vehicle, living in a low risk suburb in Melbourne:

RACV
125i $1494.32 per annum
135i $1700.70

QBE
125i $1038.00
Couldn't get a quote on the 135i because "The vehicle sum insured exceeds the maximum value allowed." I had put the purchase price at $80K.

AAMI didn't have the 1 series listed. They're usually pretty competitive so I'd be interested to see what they can offer. Big difference between the above 2 insurers on the 125...

Does anyone have any ideas on other insurers that would be worth getting a quote from?

Give AAMI a call. Got the TT insured with them as I was 25 when I got it and they were by far the cheapest. Especially with the 50% of the premium for a $2k excess.

I'd only claim something big, so that's something that works for me.

Tried shannons?

That seems pretty steep. How much is RACV for an E92 M3 same circumstances?

Hi Wayne..Looks like you were right about my car..It has been booked now for loading on the AIDA..
It might be a late May/June delivery.
Its really weird as my VIN seems to be mutch later than some of the VINs listed here.

I've insured all my BMWs with BMW Insurance. They seem pretty good though I haven't had a claim yet.

Went with Allianz once I bought my ML as they allow you to choose repairer (unlike standard AAMI policy). They are a bit more expensive though.

Mate of mine got best deal on his 335cc with BMW Insurance. Other companies were slugging extra because of the "turbo" engine. Got his 335 covered for <$1k.

From whomever I get coverage, must be allowed to choose my repairer for this or any other premium car i am lucky to own.

AAMI can do an Exige S (supercharged) for me for $1433 from memory. This suprised me as a few months ago I couldnt even insure a Z4M coupe with them. I have all my cars insured with them.

This is using the AAMI online quoting system BTW.

I just looked up my paperwork this morning. The only thing they did not want to insure is my AMV8. Everything else has been fine, including my 997. AAMI isn't too bad actually. We recently had someone hit the back of our X3 (hit and run) and we were able to get that fixed pretty smoothly.
