Tinting Tail
Are there any companies out there that are going offer vinyl overlays for the tail lights????? I know bluebatmobile.com has a bunch of overlays for different cars.
I know you can tint the lights with Nite Shades, but if you mess up and dont like it the lights go in the garbage.

My cousin bought some overlays from that website for his car. Great quality from what I saw, perfect fit, and my cousin said the service was A+ as well. Wouldn't mind giving them a shot myself!

Ok good Im glad we have some interested people. Now we need a test car in the San Diego area. The guy said he wants to get on it right away. I will email him about making overlays for the amber also.

Tinting the tail light is really illegal? Damn you cant do anything to a car. I was thinking of tossing a light layer of tint on the backs and trying to dull out the side amber a bit with some eyelids to make the headlights a lil smaller.
Id love to see bluebatmobile come out with overlays for front and back lights. Ive seen his work on some nissans and was impressed. he cuts its perfectly. you just have to toss it on. |

I'm sure a cop wouldnt know if you had a light tint on the tails. Just tell him the car came like this; I would love to see him prove it. My friend with a 350z has had them on for 4 yrs and has never been pulled over for it. He's been pulled over alot for other reasons and cops have never mentioned it.

A liquid tint will give you the best results. I had my clear corners tinted and buffed with a liquid tint product and they look great. If they get scuffed or something, you can just buff the scuffs out and go on about your business. Nate

yea the liquid tint is Nite Shades, but if you end up hating the way it looks, you have to buy new tails. At least with the overlays you can take them off

go with Lamin-x
I am ordering two sheets for the fronts and for the rears. It is easy to cut and install yourself. If you are not as adventurous then take them to a good tint shop and they should square you up.

The liquid tint that my tinter used on my clear corners was not Niteshades. It came in a bucket and was designed specifically for difficult contours like head/taillights. He applied a few coats, letting each dry and then buffed them smooth. They look like a million bucks. If you are interested in the results search for cbrenn71 on focusfanatics.com. Don't bother reading many of the posts elsewhere in the forum as much of it is junk. Nate

This might seem like a stupid question BUT. If you completely cover the amber reflector with say carbon fiber vinyl. Will it block the turn signal? Meaning is the turn signal located in the amber, or is it located just in front of the amber? I know we have the side marker directions anyway, but just curious.
