Since the piggyback war has settled in the $700 price range and new tunes available from AA and helix, Procede seems to be a tad too costly now. Even with the newer functions just released by the Vishnu team.

Jim Conforti will undoubtedly be releasing the Shark Injector soon for the N54, which will turn the tuner market upside down for a while, depending on how aggressive/conservative he makes his flash. Getting an ECU flash VS adding a piggyback for the same price is almost a no brainer.

We will have to wait and see!

My local shop is installing these. Apparently it's very effective. It can be installed with a valet switch, and my shop confirms it does not void warranty. Also, my mechanic suggested going with this before Procede or similar products.

He also recommended that this product only be installed with an intercooler. (In his words, a MASSIVE one). Since it apparently causes things to heat up pretty quick.. similar to those post you've seen on E90 about overheating.

Just talked to him yesterday.. and he recently installed this, an intercooler, exhaust, headers, and is apparently dyno'ing a 335 at 400+hp.

Does this reduce RPMs at high boost? Dinan mentioned that at higher boost the turbos overspeed and can burst over time, so they reduce boost at high rpms.

He probably meant Down Pipes. Turbo-back exhaust would free up a bunch of ponies along with a piggyback/ECU, IC, intake, and a tune.

Advanced Engine Management seems to be the base for this device. Here's their webpage for a F/IC which looks like what AA is using: http://www.aempower.com/ViewCategory...CategoryID=116

New AA processor for 135i

Are anyone thinking on this? There are E92 with the new AA processor with gain numbers close to helix and JB2H. The AA quality and reliability is top notch, and the price seems good at $695.

"We’ve has also implemented a map switching feature which allows you to switch between maps. Whether it is a custom map or our basic Stage 1.5 performance map, the Active Processor’s Map Switching capability will handle the job over and over again. The new Active Processor also includes a custom harness kit with detailed installation instructions and comes preloaded with our Stage 1.5 software on our proprietary V3 firmware that is compatible on all current production 335, 535 and 135's. When it comes to Horsepower gain, the Active Processor produces over 65 HP and over 85 ft lbs of torque."

Meant DPs!

And to the post above the one I quoted.. Yes: apparently boost is reduced at higher RPMs to operate in safe limits. There were other small modifications to the car, but the main ones I remember were DP, exhaust, BOV, processor, and massive intercooler.

I will get more details next time I'm in to see them, and post them here as there seems to be some interest!

Does your car hit the speed limiter too easy? Do you already compared with other cars?

I always thought that a BOV on a 35i engine was just for show off (sound), and it didn't affect the performance.

Why not??? There are aftermarket headers for several FI engines like Evo, R33, 300zx, supra...

I believe it just manages the stresses better than stock, no increase in performance, just safety-wise.

there are headers on turbo cars; however people usually call them "exhaust manifolds". he meant downpipes though.

It mentions custom maps, does that mean their will be tunes availble for the common mods like intercooler, DP's, exhaust. I know i would be interested
