Car Cover for Your 1 Series

Just a heads up, I just ordered a new car cover from Big Sky Carcovers. The car does not appear on there web page as of this time, but if you call them, they do have the specs and can custom make one for the 1 series.

I went with Kimberly-Clark Evolution 4 fabric(block-it 400), I have had several of these covers, excellent quality.

I'm hoping the Noah car cover for my 06 Si will fit since I only need it for winter storage.

Mind if I ask how much that costed? Do you park your car outside or in a carport? Just wondering if you'll be using this daily or for winter car storage

I think it was right around 176.00 shipped. The car is parked in my garage at night, but out in the open at work. I have found using the car cover at work helps keep the dust down and the heat down also (AZ SUN). It takes only a matter of seconds to put it on and off....

I am worried people will mess with it if it has a cover on it. I live in an appartment and it will be sitting in a lot outside my apt.

I think your chances are a lot higher of getting keyed without the cover on the car. Also, the cover with help against door dings(Evolution 4 fabric). I'd rather have someone steal the cover than damage the car.

If the cover doesn't have bmw markings it may attract less attention from would be vandals. I understand your thinking though, in a very public place it would draw attention but in a private garage or residence you might be okay.

Get one and have a Mazda logo sewn on it since the 1er and Mazda3 are about the same size. : -)

Block-It 400 is not available. How is it different from the 380?

380 is only 3 layers of protection. I beleive the evolution (technalon) cover is the same as the block it 400(4 layers of protection). However, the evolution cover now has a soft inner layer to help protect the paint.

I guess I miss spoke when the cover I orded is the Block it 400, it is not, it is the Evolution (technalon) Block It cover. I'll have to research and find out if it replaced the Block it 400 cover. Either way, the cover is outstanding and with the new softer inner linner, you can't go wrong.

Thanks JohnL135I. I ordered my cover this morning from Big Sky Car Covers. I've been searching for a while. Problem solved. Thank you.

California Car Covers is the only way to go. They have it for the 135i in the "Noah" fabric for $199.

IMO this is the only way to go.

The Noah fabric is excellent, I chose to go with the evolution fabric because its a little bit thicker material, it will be more resistant to the wind moving it about..... Just my personal choice.

My local dealer procured a form-fit 'BMW' brand Noah cover for the 1 at the same price as from California Car Covers plus no shipping charge, saved shipping and 2 weeks. Actually, I had ordered a Noah cover from CCC, canceled the order, went with the dealer's item as it was already in town.

I would get the OEM BMW noah fabric car cover, I have used them on all of my past BMW's and there is nothing else on the market that fits like the OEM cover.

Took a little bit to figure out how to 'apply' the thing at 1:00AM, right after work, in the dark, thinking about that beer. What's with the attached bag at the back?

you open the trunk and put the bag in there, the straps anchor the cover to the car so it does not blow away.

does that make any sense?
