Ugly "euro wheel" from brake dust?

Dont know why... and quite frankly I dont really care. But, we all know how all the european cars (mb, bmw, ext..) get that nasty black build-up particularly on the front rims from the break pads. All I want to know is: What break pads do I put on the 1 to stop that from occuring? Is Axxis really the best brand to get? Yaye Nay?? thoughts?

Your right it does suck. Its the pads all day long. Axxis are great pads. I'm still covered, so I could care less other than the fact it does screw the wheels up bad.

Euro brake pads are softer so they bite even at low temps. I switched to other harder pads to lower the dust but I can feel the difference in bite. I found if you put a cheap liquid wax on the wheels the dust doesn't stick and you can go several weeks before the wheels turn gray.

Ok. well I'll have to try this. I have found that the more I clean the wheels the better. But with this cold ass weather it the last thing I want to do.

I used Axxis Ultimates for street and autocross and found them to be excellent, low dust pads. As a track pad they are inadequate.

if you looking for low dust the axxis deluxe produce the lest amount of dust for axxis pads. Ultimates are actually advertised as being the worst for dust.

They may be the worst of the Axxis brand for dust, but they make far less dust than OE pads and have better initial bite and temp resistance than the Deluxe, which I've also used.

Wait what???

Axxis Ultimates are WIDELY regarded (in all car circles) as the WORST pads as far as dusting goes. Great bite, good wear, but horrible with the dust. Not sure about comparisons to OE, but as far as aftermarket pads go, they are by my on the bottom of the list...(I run them now btw....but thats because more dust doesn't bother me)

DO NOT get Ultimates if you are concerned about dust.

Give up a little bite and go with something like an HPS, similar performance worlds less dust, and only a little more $$$.

Good God, brake pad discussions are like oil threads. OK, I know that Ultimates make dust, I'm just saying they are far better for dust than OE pads without giving up OE pad feel.

Anyone have any Exp w/ EBC Green pads on a BMW? I know they are big w/ the mini crowd.
I would only be hitting the track 1-2 times per year for driving school,..nothing competitive.

Do we really have any options yet, for these newly released brakes? I couldn't find any, looking a few weeks ago.

EBC Green work fine with cars under 3K pounds, so they are not for us.
