XEDE installation

after reading through this carefully I would be afraid I would make a mistake somewhere...is this something any mechanic should be able to do?

well not as a gas station mechanic, If you go to a performance shop to get this done they will have no problem putting it on, But they will prob double check if you want it done and ask if you have any professional driving experience. My friend went to get it installed on his 335i coupe and the first guy would not install it for him. second guy did. Plus idk if it would void the BMW warranty.

Your best bet is a tuning shop or another enthusiast who's installed it before. Take a look at turbo tuner which is a true plug-n-play.

thanks tuned1, that turbo tuner looks like a good option for the duration of my warranty/ultimate service...then something more permanent later down the road.

This is how the Vishnu is installed also, unless they have made it plug and play recently.

Let's be honest, it's not as easy to install/uninstall as the SSTT.

Those have to be the easiest directions to follow in the world, it even has pictures. You should easily be able to do this on your own unless you have absolutely no experience what so ever. I would have to say that the only reason any mechanic (even a gas station mechanic) would not be able to follow those directions is if he had no clue what-so-ever how to read.

BTW, you should never use a lighter to shrink heatshrink tubing. It heats unevenly and tends to cause small holes you can't see that become big enough to cause a short in a short amount of time...
