Pretty expensive tire. My s2k came with them stock. It wore pretty quickly too. Anyway, it was a GREAT handling tire.

We'll likely get RE050A runflats from the factory anyway. Almost every one of the 18" wheel equipped cars that I've seen from BMW (non-M) generally have those.

Most likely. Either them or the Dunlop SP Sport 01 DSST. I had the Bridgestones on my Mazda at first and they were a decent tire. But they are expensive and wear poorly. There are a whole raft of great performance tires that will be cheaper than the Bridgestones.

Not likely. It is sure, I got that tires from factory in my 135i and you will not get other tires simply because they are a special version of the RE050As with low rolling resistance specially designed for BMW. It is very unlikely that BMW has arrangements with other tire manufacturers.

Yup. Tire dimensions are very weird too. BMW should have specially requested that size for this car.

Forces you to go a bit wider and reduce understeer. 225s will fit the stock front wheels, 255's on the rear. You have oddles of choices then.

jams, i'm looking to hook up a set of 261s as well. i'm still inquiring across many dealerships to see if it's possible. if not, i bet we could hook something up w/ a fellow 1addict. either way, i'm planning on ps2s personally. if you do find out a way to get some 261s, please pm me. i'll do the same. thanks.

confusion: I spoke with my dealer today. They have part numbers and pricing but can't order yet. I hope to get the wheels and tires before the car arrives in March. After a little research, I am leaning towards the Bridgestone RE 010R. I will drop you a note when they place the wheel order... shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks, they said.
Here are the 261 part numbers and retail prices: 36 11 7 891 050 Front $470 each 36 11 7 891 051 Rear $505 each |

Thanks, JAMS 135. The Bridgestone RE 01R is a top performing summer tire, for sure. Just don't expect very long wear from them. It's one of the favorite tires for SCCA Solo street tire classes.

Interesting. The Existing RE750 looks nothing like that...
Edit: Found it.. it's the RE 070 (as seen at tire rack): Getting bad reviews, and is OEM for Subaru WRX |

Are you sure it's not the new RE760?
