Morr Wheels - Group Buy

I have been speaking with Carlos Morr via email and he is aware that there is some interest on this forum regarding his product for the 1er.

Anyone interested in a group buy please post in this thread so we can get an idea if we have enough to work out a group buy.

Wheel diameter is an issue to me anyway. Currently he is tooled for a 19 diameter to support his 3er customers. I am personally interested in an 18 diameter and the potential reduction of rotational mass that would afford. His 19x_ only weigh around 20 lbs. !

Of course there are still details to work out, but he seemed impressed with the early (dare I say premature) interest expressed for his product on 1Addicts and would like to support us with a group buy. We need 20 or so to get discounted pricing.

Post whether you are interested in 18 or 19 diameter, and whether VS7 or VS8 is the design you prefer.

link to their website which shows their current two designs > http://www.morralloys.com/wheel.php?...s7&vehicle=bmw

PM me if you have any specific questions and I will try and keep this thread updated.

As much as I would like to participate, is there study done to ensure the offset...etc would work on the 1er? Please point me to that direction. I would love to have a set of 19 VS7. I love how "concave" they look on e90. Also, it would be nice to list the price or PM me the price. Thanks in advance.

I like how the VS7 looks, very concave.

I'd DEFINITELY buy a non-staggered set of 18s, providing pricing was comparable to other options, and I do mean DEFINITELY. I've read good things about these on other boards, and if the pricing is comparable to what I've seen there, they'd be a steal.

He will be developing the wheels to work based on the offsets, widths, and brake clearances required. Morr is something of a custom solution, as they only build for BMW and Porsche. I don't have anything specific as to the timing of the wheels but I would guess it will be after the car is stateside for testing and such. I am glad to hit Carlos up with questions in some orderly fashion so post 'em up here.

18's VS7, only if in antracite or black. When does this car arrive in the US? I would prefer to have my wheels by mid May as that is when the cars arrive in Australia.

Probably somewhere in the $2000-2400 a set range, based on what I've seen from their past group buys.

Agreed! These are extremely high quality wheels for the $$. Easily equivalent to or better than anything from Rays or BBS.

$500 more for 18's????? Why are we paying for tooling for a product that he is going to sell heaps of after he makes the initial batch to us? This isn't right. He needs to absorb it as his cost. I am not interested if the 18's cost $2750. 19's will just be rediculous as the tyres will be too thin.

I agree to some degree. It is more expensive for a small shop like this to gear up for a new size, but ultimately they will profit.

One of the reasons I started this thread was to see how many would be interested in the 18 vs. the 19. We shall see.

I am definitely interested in the 18 inch VS8 wheels. It would be a sad day of MORR doesn't sell their wheels in an 18 inch size. From a performance perspective, 19s don't make much sense at all. 18s are a good balance towards performance and looks in my opinion, with 17 inch wheels performing the best handling, braking, car feel characteristics.

If I cannot find a 18 inch wheel from MORR, than I will look toward other wheel companies to fill that void, which there are many to choose from.

I have no interest in 19s. I assumed the purpose of a group buy would be to divert the initial cost.

If the price starts creeping too much past $625 a wheel, there are a couple of other options that would also offer good looks, and even less weight.

Considering going with a non-staggered set-up. Do we think we are going to see this option from Morr?
Are the offsets the same for the front and rear wheels?
18 inchers would be my only consideration. Prefer the VS8 style.
