coolant overflow tank

Ok, dumb question but I don’t think this is normal.. had the dealership do a final courtesy inspection few weeks back and told them to look at my expansion tank because there was crusting. They came back and said they did a pressure test and no leaks but they topped off the coolant for me. I opened the cap today 5hours after driving it and see that it’s well above the max line.

Obviously I don’t want to take it back to the dealer as they will just charge me for their time.

Can I or should I suction some of the coolant out to the max fill line? Also, is running too much coolant bad? Thanks!
