F10 steering wheel coil problem
Ive had a light noise coming from the steering wheel coil so i decided to take it apart, by accident the tape fell out. So i just bought another used coil spring to change, when i put it on, a plastic ticking sound appears even louder than before when lightly turning the wheel left or right, what could be the cause?
Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/AClm2qbda...qEsGxEj9j9Y0Hw My car is f10 and the steering wheel is f30 m steering wheel with rewelded attatchment (bought the car with it) Could anyone tell me also if the two plastic parts marked by the arrow are important? Check photo below https://ibb.co/FHbGQ1z They were in the way and were directly in contact with the metal back of the steering wheel (see x on the photo where they contact), i tried bending them to fit the gap below but they broke https://ibb.co/zbgjpyy Will be waiting for anyones opinion what to do next!! Please help me fix it Big thanks in advance |

I think that noise is a result of the steering wheel not able to hold the clock spring tight as you turn it. It is important that it does stay snug with the wheel because it is how it knows what angle your wheel is at. I think the best fix is to get a F10 wheel.

Notice the two plugs at the top of the wheel moving when you turn the wheel? That appears to be the clicking. IIRC, the F30 wheel isn't compatible with the F10. Those broken clips probably stabilize the clockspring.
