2017 340i 6 Speed THD MPPSK Value?

Hey guys,

Sorry to be that guy, but i'm just trying to get a feeling on the value on my 340i, its a 2017 6 speed manual with track handling package, M-Sport, MPPSK with 62k miles. No accidents at all, car is in great shape.

Never tuned, performance wise has a catted downpipe, intake, Bilstein B6 EDC upgraded shocks, with H&R Super Sport springs, strut tower brace and then some clutch adjustments, clutch pedal stopper, deleted the clutch delay valve.

Interior I upgraded and coded the 8 inch screen, swapped M3 Door panels, upgraded all interior lighting LEDs, OEM M3 Carbon fiber trim, M performance shift knob and parking brake boot and probably some stuff I'm forgetting.

Attached are some pictures

The best thing to do to get a valuation is just spend some time going through active local listings.

The modifications can be a deterrent for a lot of buyers. From a financial standpoint, it often makes sense to remove them and resell them if you can.

Best luck with sale.

There are no local listings for a 6 speed 340i, theirs only one I see for sale nationwide.

If you asked me to guess, I would say $25K-$30K.
But like you said, there is not much available out there to make a closer evaluation.
Plus the used car market is all over the place as far as prices and availability.
If you are going to sell, you know you need to find the right BMW buyer that knows these vehicles. Maybe post in the classified on this site?
Ask high and be willing to take less.

Seriously? $25-30k for a 340i with mppsk and 6 mt? That car is at least 35k ish without the mods. I would list at $40k tbh. People buy plane tickets to fly across the country for manual 340s..

And at $40k no one would buy it. OP, check https://www.edmunds.com/appraisal/ and add $2k - $3k-ish. At 62k miles you’ll probably be somewhere between $30k - $33k. In July I bought a 2018 with about 44,500 miles considerably better equipped with factory options, but not the MPPSK or the six speed for $32k. There are certainly folks who are looking for a manual, but it doesn’t send the value through the roof by any stretch of the imagination.

I said it was a guess, you do know that mods don't necessarily add value? Some buyers will like the mods, some will want OEM.
Ask whatever you like. You truly won't know how much it's worth till you find someone to purchase it.
Let us know if you find a buyer.

You are 100% correct. Mods add almost no value. One should not expect to get more than 10% of the value of their mods.

Let him list it for $40k and let’s see the bidding war as people line up

Yes, OEM mods are generally better adds than aftermarket and yet you’re still likely to see only about a 10% increase in the value of the car based on what you spent on the mods. Like it or not that’s how it works out the vast majority of the time. If you want to maximize what you get back for your mods take them off and sell them separately.

Yeah im not trying to get any extra for the mods, but I like to think they are tasteful and quality. Ideally I would want to get 35k for my car.

I would say for a 2017 with 62k miles $35k is not real likely, but not impossible. You’ll have to find just the right buyer and it will probably take a fair amount of time. But, you have a very nice car and it looks great! You might find a manual buyer who really appreciates it and will go that high, but it probably won’t happen in a week.

I just noticed your 50th anniversary roundels. They look so good on Alpine White!! I’m just about to order a set for my car. May I ask you a couple of questions? Did you get OEM roundels? 74mm for the hood, 51-11-7-886-545 and 82mm for the trunk, 51-14-8-087-190? Any issues with fitment? Where did you get the wheel caps? Thanks!

Yes they are oem but I used different part numbers

51148087188
51148087196

Wheel caps are Chinese versions.

This. Car shortages and delivery times have really driven up the used car prices making it a sellers market. That being said, manual's aren't as sought after for the mainstream consumer (hence why BMW killed them off).

If I had the option to choose between two equal cars, one being an auto, and the other a manual for way more $$$, I'd pick the auto. Similar priced, I'd grab the stick. These are mass produced and not collector items.

Thanks for the part numbers. I’ve seen the second one a lot. Did they have “pins” that pushed into holes in the hood and trunk or did they have two sided tape?
