Price speculation based on Military Sales price estimates

Here's something someone on bimmerpost.com posted.

source: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...29#post1602029

Quote:
heres a pricing estimate for the military pricing program over seas. The 128 should start from 25k and the 135i from 31k. I hope this is true. Two seperate dealers unoffically quoted me this. So add about 3500 to that price and that should be the msrp price for the states. I can't wait to get my 135i!

Im going through the military sales rep also. I was quoted for a base price of 29,000. And there is also a $2,100 delivery charge added to it. so yeah...31K sounds about right.

Going through the military sales rep you do not have to pay the dealer MSRP.

Just to be clear on this, you have to be deployed or stationed in Europe to go through the military sales rep correct?

You can be either or. I go through Pentagon Car Sales. The guy I talk to is Aaron Ewing. He is a retired E9 in the Air Force and cool as hell.

You have to be either stationed overseas, or on TDY orders. You cannot be stationed in the states. So, line up a TDY to Eurpoe, and when you're there, get your 1er.

Saw this post on bimmerfest, and thought it was a good follow-up to this thread. Nathan Barnes from the PentagonCarSales posted there...

There is no delivery charge for military personel if you take delivey in Europe, home shipping is included in the price.

The thing you guys have to remember is while we dont pay sales tax and such, when you get the car stateside and go to register it the state you are in most likely will consider you car a new car and thus charge you sales tax at a very large sum.
I have been stationed overseas for a while now and have seen this bite alot of people thinking they are getting a great deal only to get another big bill when they hit stateside.
So if you are considering this i recommend getting in contact with whatever state DMV you are registering the car and and find out how to avoid the taxes. Most of the time is a certain mileage or 6 months ownership or something of the sort.

Washington State has sales tax, however, Oregon does not.

Not sure if you meant Washington D.C. or WA state.

I am over here deployed too, and I am really confused about this pricing deal. Are there no deals when I go back home, or do I have to buy my car while I am deployed? If so, how am i supposed to test drive anything to see if I like it? Help me out here, I have been here for a while and have a boatload of cash to spend when I get home

Just go to this site: http://www.pentagoncarsales.com/

At first, I thought your "Drives" read 'UNarmored Humvee'. Glad they are finally making more of them available to you guys.

Yah I know I am sad, I drive a truck worth well over a million bucks, and have to downgrade to something in the 30s O well, however, I am still intrigued by this deployed deal, any other companies do it as well?

if the car is kept overseas 6+ months then they the state can't tax you upon your return.

I was told 25k starting for the 128i and that is a high estimate. Somewhere between the 24.5-25k is what i am predicting for military price.
