Any thoughts of 135i vs the M Coupe.

I suppose the price and back seat is the major difference. Anyone have any opinions.

Price. Back seat. Engine character. Brakes. Differential. Styling. Hydraulic steering. Run-flats.

I love the look of the M coupes. When done right they really look good.

But, I guess I'd rather have a new 128 over a used 2000 M coupe oor 335 over a 2001+ M coupe. Simply for the fact that maintenance is covered, warranty and knowing how the engine was broken in.

Hard to do any comparisons when all we have is a spec sheet and some photos to look at.

Why do people keep comparing cars not even close to the same price range?

How do you guys think the 135 will compare against a F430 Scuderia?

LOL... I guess that we're all kind of bored due to the lack of official information from BMW.

BTW, with mods the 135i will blow away the F430. Yeah, right.

Well, if you compare the 135i with a 2001/2002 E36 M-Coupe (which can be had for well under 30k) then the pricing isn't an issue.

Therefore, it makes it a valid comparison in terms of power figures and overall size.

Personally, I love the E36 M-coupes. However, I know all too well that it won't be practical for my needs. So the 135i still holds the top spot for my next car.

no head curtain airbags in the m coupe.

i'm sure the side airbag goes up a little to try and protect the head, but to me, this is a signficant liability for the m coupe.

I would love to see if they Bring out a 1-coupe, like a smaller Z4Coupe styled vehicle.

Of course, as much as I would love it, it is just not as practical as the 4-seat 135i...

My main concern with the Z coupe is its E46M3 engine that was known to break down. Despite BMW claimed the 2004.5 ones are okay I am still uncomfortable with it.

We're talking about the current M Coupe, right? Not the old one?

No contest the 135 with a N54 with simple bolt ons will walk all over an M coupe in the streets, plus though it is a small back seat the 1 coupe at least has that usable option.

Do you mean the "M 1 COUPE ?" Or is there another one that I don't know about yet. If it's the M1 coupe, I think 2010 is too long of a wait for it. I'm already on the waiting list for the 135i. I'll drive that one for 2 years, then compare the 2. I do like the look of the M1 coupe though.
