Thumbs up 135i Price: Dealer Feedback

Just got confirmation from my dealer-- they believe the 135i will start at $30 K or under... thought everyone would find that interesting. Probably means you will be able to get a nicely-equipped one around $35 K range.

Is this a US dealer? Mine told me he would not know for several months.

Funny, I did a similar thing. I just got back from picking up my e90 at the dealer for service about 20 minutes ago, and I talked to the manager of the dealership. He said they have no idea yet. I have a pretty decent relationship with him too.

Not to pee on people's sno-cones, but that info hasn't been released to anybody at the dealerships yet (unfortunately). It's still 3/4 of a year away before they hit the US dealerships, and probably 3 or 4 more months before the dealerships (and we) learn of the pricing structure.

I hope I'm wrong and you are right, but the 135i being almost $10k less than the 335i is probably highly unrealistic.

I hate to rain on your parade. But this is HIGHLY unrealistic and not very true i dont think.

You cannot believe what a dealer said, especially if it was a sales rep.

They do not have prices yet, they may have an idea, but they dont know for sure.

However, if they are by some chance correct, then this will be the greatest thing ever.

I will buy 2 if they start at 30k or under

well figure this much-- 135i has to come in under the 3 series pricing otherwise it just wouldnt make sense to call it a 1 series.

i dont think my dealership was far off... even if it creeps to $36-37 K fully loaded, it's a win win situation for everyone. i dont think BMW is stupid enough to have this car creep into 3 series territory from a base standpoint.

Agreed, they have to delineate the different products somewhere, and by size comparison its not that far off from the 3 coupe. Just a handful of cm.

Sounds reasonable because the car after tax and dst will be around 40k. Hard to see it starts at 35k and end up with a 43-45k dollar car after tax and dst. That's in the 335i's territory.

I will probably get
- 135i AW
- Terra
- NAV
- Keyless

That is assuming standard equip on 135i are
M-suspension
Xenon
Sports seat

I got the same info from my MINI Sales Manager who had just finished asking the BMW Sales Manager. Both are in Atlanta.

I'm only having one BIG PERSONAL PROB with the whole 1er idea. I only need one car...( already have a van for the biz) which means I'd have to give up the MINI...my mind & emotions are doing flip flops on that one.

I've enjoyed the fun and the folks I've met while driving that little thing for 3 years.

Keep thinking I'll miss it too much...and then the thought of 300 ponies in the 1er gives me chills.

My friends with MINIs say I can still join them for track days, etc.

Give me some feed back folks...do you think the 1er will be as much fun and as nimble on the twistys as the MINI? BTW, my MINI is nicely modded, boosting the HP to around 200. Curb Weight is around 2658 lbs.

2 tons 'O pure FUN!

Geez one&only, you are kidding, aren't you? The 1 series is almost as big and as heavy as the 3 series coupe. Naah. i don't buy it. I hanging on to my modded GTI for that very reason, I had a volvo S60R that ran like stink, but it was a tank, hence the modded GTI.
Keep the Mini if at all possible for those days when you need that lightweight gokart feel.

Maybe a 1er isn't for me at any price cause I can't get enough of that lightweight gokart feel.

Maybe I just need to buy another MINI in a few years. I'm so wrapped up in the Nationwide MINI community which has afforded me very important mod and upkeep connections. Irreplaceable people, as well as friends, who know MINI stuff like nobody's business.

One guy has a 335 and told me about the 1er...said it's the ONE to GET! He will have his very own not long after they come out I'm sure.

Aussies get it tough....

Somebody please explain why we Aussies are going to have to pay $90000 for the 135i....? $30000 US equals $35000 AUD. Oh thats right the goverment has to have its share, not to mention the $8000-$10000 profit that BMW Australia keep in the vehicle.... To bad we can only afford Hyundai's. Still it's the same for the M3, $150000 here.
