Return to stock or try sell modified?

I have a full bolt-on, low-mileage (51k), e93 335is I need to sell rather quickly because I am moving overseas.

Am I better off reinstalling the stock parts I kept (downpipes, intercooler, airbox) and putting a stock tune back on it or should I try and sell with the mods and the stock items as spares?

Anyone know what the market is like at the moment? Seems the demand for n54s has died off a bit

Just sell modified. Purchased my 51k mile 335is last month for $24k that was pretty much bone stock. It does depend on just how modified it is, such as stage 2 FBO vs big turbo and supporting mods, but not a whole lot. I think $25k, depending on the condition of the car, is a very reasonable starting price that will sell quickly. Best of luck!

Packages matter to some people too. I wanted a fully loaded car with PDC and had to look around a little bit.

yeah. its got the DCT from the m3 so its not quite as desirable as the manual or the e92. All the mods are reputable brand names, installed by a great local performance shop, and the only tune is a proper MHD one (I have a jb4 but never installed).

Just having trouble getting traction.

Sell modified but include stock parts in case next owner wants it to be stock.

e90s values drop a lot.

I'm seeling right now parts, like new, low usage and I dont have any pm.

Might be too expensive, but im asking less than half the price new, and everything has 1000-4000 km and +/- 1 year. lol.

i have the feeling people buy on spring, before summer vacations anyway.

timing is important as overdose stated, but you do not have the luxury of waiting until spring....as life is taking you other places.

the easiest is to sell the freaking car to carvana or an equivalent and they hand you a check and pick up your car.

the more detailed process is to sell on bringatrailer (i just sold my 07 z4m roadster on their website) but it requires some time, documentation, pics, etc, etc.

Sell it as is. Won't make a difference on price one way or the other.

Yeah, sell it as is, but don't expect to recoup the costs of the mods.
Think of the mods as a fun hobby you enjoyed, not as an investment.

Usually an unmodified car has more appeal to most consumers, especially if you have a pristine 335is. On the other hand anyone looking to buy a 335is knows that downpipes and an intercooler aren't aggressive modifications and don't affect reliability. I'd take a clean modified car over one that's completely stock but neglected.

I get the desire for a quick sale though... it's not much work to return to stock but it's something extra to deal with among the millions of higher priority things to deal while during a move. I sold a truck during a move and didn't get as much as I could have, but I didn't want to wait and the convenience of a quick sale was well worth it.

That's basically my perspective. I used quality parts (Turner high flow downpipes, CSF intercooler, BMS cone filters, Phoenix racing chargepipe) and have had the install done/checked by a friend with reputable shop so its well cared for a sorted. And I have the stock parts if they really want to turn it back but tbf i think a 12 year old 335is is more of an enthusiast choice than a general consumer car.
