Extreme heat causes the horn to honk???
Here's an odd one. My wife has reported this a few times. Normally, the car is garaged but after extended periods of time in Texas sun, the car will honk 5-15 times before the car cools down. Anyone heard of this before? Thanks

Need more details…but is the vehicles locked? Asking because that would activate the DWA (anti-theft alarm siren system)…and if for some reason the battery discharged low enough…that could case the alarm to go off…due to the system thinking the drop in voltage was a theft attempt.
So that asks the question, is alarm system activated, and is there anything draining the vehicle’s battery…like pre-ventilation being activated to cool down the interior? Or is there any add on equipment like a dash cam that could be draining the battery. High ambient temps are just as harsh to the vehicle’s battery as extreme cold temps.

Good questions. The vehicle is locked while it's sitting there. There's no aftermarket accessories. Pre-ventilation is off.
I don't believe I was clear on the fact the honking occurs as she's driving the car. 5-15 honks until the car interior cools down. |
