Pics of a 135 without love handles
Not that I have anything against love handles, I just don't think it looks right on a 135. If they'd clean up the lines a bit I'd love to get one to replace my old E46.
Now just gimme a 130is/si with 285 HP and I'll be in really happy. Or gimme a 1M ( can't waste the M1 tag on this car ) with an aluminum/magnesium version of the E46 M3 engine ( S54? ) with 333 HP and M-LSD and make it around 3033 lbs and I'll be in Heaven. Midnight Blue Metallic + Cinnamon Nappa + ZCP trims + Xenons + Heated Seat, and Delete Moonroof / power seats / nav and I'll be set. |

Wow, the changes are so subtle I barely even noticed the difference!!
But the photoshopped image definitely looks sleeker! Now if you could change it to Alpine White...

I think it looks cheaper without the "love handles" I applaud BMW for doing this and not making the car look like everything else on the market. And IMO, the 1 series is very deserving of the 1 series title!!! look very closely. the head lights look a little different too. Its a photoshop well done.

Subtle is right I can't tell which is chopped and what the differences are :iono:
Nevermind, I got it, not "Love" handles... "Bangle" Handles

I couldn't even tell the difference until I compared the pics side by side.

Along with the missing antenna, europlate and the headlights are tweaked.

I'm usually good at the "compare the two pictures" game, but you'll have to give me a hint on this one...

I prefer the official thing... it's the same design strategy that was used on the Z4 and works brilliantly there. Same here. It also visually lengthens the car.

I don't mind the "Love Handles", I just don't think they go well with the straight line of the side skirt right below it

I love how new vehicles always bring out the pickiness in people. "Now if only it was a hatch, a sedan.." "If only it had cloth, and LSD, a diesel, a 4-cylinder, natural aspiration."

Isn't being picky the whole reason we have like 10 different kinds of BMW's to pick from with a wealth of engine/body kit options to choose from?
There's a reason theres a bunch of cars out there, everyone knows what they want and we'll choose the one that matches as much as we can afford. For me, LSD is a given, I really don't know how you can call it a sporty coupe without one. And I'm still not used to the new design style but the M5 is starting to grow on me. I've always like boxier lines ( Testarossa, MR2 Mk2, E30 ) and I like a car with panels that look like they're hugging the frame. Current style to me looks like baggy clothes vs. fitted clothes of yesteryear. Now my only hope an M version with a slightly wider track and some tastefully done flares... and an LSD and 8.5k rev limiter. Turbos are great, but a N/A with a high rev limit is soooo much fun. But I really do like the promise of a 1 series... I imagine it as a shrunken down version of the E46 that's been updated with the current design trends, and a smaller, lighter and better handling E46 is a good thing. Now just gimme a 300 HP 3.0 Liter N/A with an 8k RPM! Oh, and NO SHARK FIN! |

the headlights do look better, would fit even better with kidney grills like the 3er saloon. actually, like ive said before, just flatten that whole front fascia a little bit and put it on the 1er.. BAM.
i think the love handles fit the lines as they are though as a whole.. i like em |
