Well the press release from BMW NA detailing the specs for our cars specifically states that rotary A/C knobs will have the metallic trim. So basically they're the same knobs in pretty much every new BMW on sale here. Good news.

Two knobs on the current 3ers. Both control the dual zone temps. In the center the button on the left is the MAx setting and in the center of the one on the right is the Rest setting.

This is probably the basic edition for Europe. Like the basic 1 series hatchback edition in Europe, which doesn't have dual zone clima, multifunction steering wheel and brushed aluminium trim. If you see the tachometer, you will see the red line in 5000rpm, which means that is a diesel edition.

Man, I wish BMW catered to the NA crowd a little more. Those seating surfaces are really nice. If I had my choice, between this and extended leather (as a $3,000 option, of course) I would def. pick the cloth.

I would also jump at the chance to have a standout interesting cloth or cloth/leather option. If they whore us out of this setup I guess I'll have to pony up for terra leather

I had an Rx8 until yesterday......my sister totalled it in the Costco parking lot. I loved the interior of that car. Definately one of the most functional compromises I've seen in a sports car. Oh well....at least I wont have to worry about selling or trading it in for the 135i!!!

That^ looks like Lemon, which I believe is a special order interior color only. It's a very lovely interior color, the only thing that sucks is that you can only get a black exterior- the only color that works with Lemon interior.

That two-tone interior is something that I would definitely opt for, if given the choice. Not only does it not look cheap, but it also kinda spices up the interior. It does the cloth thing without looking clasless.

it is REALLY annoying that we don't get cloth as an option in the U.S. i ordered the cloth option on my R56 MCS.
