high idle

Anybody know what would cause this it usually idles just above 500rpms but while leaving school today it didn’t drop to where it’s supposed to be. I even let idle for like 2 minutes so it warm up and it didn’t move

Its likely your AC moving the idle speed up to prevent the engine from stalling while its adding the extra load while it tries to cool your cabin in near 100F temps.
