According to the AutoWeek article, "the 1 Series will debut at September’s Frankfurt motor show with North Amercian sales planned to kick off in October."

Supposedly the Coupe will not go on sale in Europe until Nov. 2007. Makes sense when the Frankfurt Auto Show is in Sept. Production will probably not begin until Sept. European Centers will more than likely get demos. :iono:

Your position most definitely aligns with logic. Plus, the date you mentioned above and past posts seems to indicate that you're more "in the know" than most of us.

Just throwing this out there, but maybe AutoWeek got confused. Won't the car be shown at some auto show in the US around that date? :iono:

Probably so... The L.A. Auto dates have been changed starting this year. LA wants to become a premier show for auto debuts/concepts.

I work full time and am an MBA student, so my only options are Spring Break (March 17-21, 2008) or August 2008. I would hate to do it in August 2008, because the '09 models will be out by the time the car arrives in the US (provided the initial 1 Series are '08s instead of '09s).

According to the BMW USA press release, the 1 Series Coupe will be available in Spring of 08.
