Tyre size question
Hey guys
Looking at new rims for my 2009 335i E93 Pre-LCI The rims im looking at on marketplace run 235 35 20 at the front (he thinks) and 285 30 20 at the rear. I'm not too worried about the front as I'm pretty certain it will fit. Rims are 20x8.5 and 20x10. Will this fit on my e93 which has the m sport suspension? Regards |

20" wheels on the E93? errrrr.........
Also 285s are probably too wide for the rear end unless you are willing to do some decent amount of modification to the fenders... also you really need to know the offsets of the wheels as that is a critical piece if you want us to give you an idea if they fit. Also you need to make sure the bolt pattern is correct for your car since there are plenty of different bolt patterns out there. Just because they are 5 lugs doesn't mean they will fit. |

I have 235 35 19 tires on the front for winter and they barely fit (rub slightly when fully turned, but haven't caused any damage). According to tire size calculator a 235 35 20 would be 1/2 inch taller than the one I'm using which calculates at 26", so it would probably be too big and contact even more when fully turned. Tire size calculator also indicates to me a 285 35 20 tire will be too tall for your fender height at the wheel opening (no clearance).

20" is just too much for E9x platform.

Like others have posted I would strongly urge that you don't go with 20" wheels on an E9x chassis.
I have 19" wheels and I already find the ride pretty rough over anything but the most smooth roads and I had to cut my inner fender linings as well as roll/pull the rear fenders to properly fit my 19" wheels with 265/30/19 tires. |
