Question Bimmercode / phone

I'm new to Bimmercode and when I was reading the directions on how to use the app it says to unpair the phone from the car and remove connections to my phone as well as shut off carplay. What if I'm using an iPad and not the phone connected to the car. Do I still need to unpair the phone?

You shouldn’t have any trouble if doing it from your iPad, the whole reason they suggest that is to prevent your phone from auto connecting to the head unit (thus disconnecting from the OBD dongle).

I use another iPhone for coding (as infrequently as I do it) so I don’t have to worry about this issue.

It’s not necessary. Just put your phone in airplane mode after pairing via Bluetooth to the adapter. I code all the time and that’s how I do it. Also remember to turn off your headlight/lamp.

Yes, using a Bluetooth adapter makes it possible to simply turn off WiFi (and LTE), but it might be preferable to use a WiFi/ENET adapter due to the higher speed.
