285/30-18 on E92
I'm wondering why no one has these on 18s?
I'm not really convinced about going to 19s and I'd like to get a set of Rota Torque 18s (9.5 rear) so I'm considering going with 285/30 in the back and 255/35 front. The front will fit on the 8.5 rim without a problem. The 285s will fit on the 9.5 rim and theoretically should clear without any problems in the back. This tire size is actually 0.30" shorter than the stock 255/35 and 0.50" shorter than the 265/30-19 that most people go with, so I don't see any issues with fitment... especially on a 9.5" rim with 30mm offset (Torque). Anyone done this? Any thoughts on pros or cons? Thanks. |

I know I'll be fine on the front and should be good on the back even with the 285 tire but I'm hoping the 285 on a 9.5" rim will not buldge out. |

With a 285 i think you might need to gently massage the fender on a +30. Rubbing may occur during full compression of the shock.

It won't bulge out, it'll be flush to the fender but like Charles said, you'll probably need to roll the rear fenders.

I got one too.
I’m looking for a rim close to this one, http://www.hrewheels.com/wheels.php?q=/COMP/COMP90/ Not sure what that offset is but i would like something close. I know I’ll be running race springs soon so i don’t want to get something that won’t fit with them. With that rim, and off set, on a 19 how wide can i go? Also, can we role the fenders are selves? Wont the plastic break? 2008 335i E92 VMRWheels, what do you think? Got anything? |

There should be a "Will this rub?" sticky in this section.

ha yeah. right now on my E92 i have a265 on my stock 18" and there is not much more room really. a 285 will be pushing it i think. But then an off set, that pushes it even further out right?

The 285 rear is very easy for both E90 and E92, you need the right offset wheels, right tires, and fender work. Anyone in SoCal wanna try 285 for E92 or 295 for E90 in the rear??? Let me know.
