Torque converter?

Hello!
I have a problem where during intense acceleration from 1st gear up to around 4500 RPM, my car experiences strange vibrations, as if the engine is jumping (the engine mounts are new and properly tightened, I have checked). It feels as if the car is front wheel drive and the front wheels are losing traction, but there is not enough power to cause wheelspin. When this problem occurs, the gearbox refuses to shift into the next gear.

Under normal acceleration, there's no issues at all.

Torque converter says bye bye?
