My coolant flange was at the end of its life until....

I've finally replaced my coolant flange (mickey mouse flange). After holding back for 3 years. Another year and it would have gone into the system for sure although I did not notice any cracking from the exterior. Interior wise definitely going.

Everyone says its a 15 minute job. But took me 1hr with decent mechanical experience.

Clearly some wear and disintegration. I highly recommend using an L-Pick to pull out pieces, you really don't want plastic in your system.

Going with the aluminum upgrade is worth it. Seals was good and no leaks. Cost $55 in Amazon Canada.

It'll save you hundreds down the line.

I bought the rein one. Fit great, looks to be about the size of the OEM hose.

Just a heads up, while the Rein aluminum flange won't deteriorate, over time they can seep a bit around the O-Ring. I've found the black ECS version to have a slightly tighter fit.

Lmao same, when I did mine I did the crack the old one method and a piece fell in the tube... wasted at least an hour plus getting the bottom hose off the thermostat and back on it... fun times lol.

But yeah got the Rein flange to. 55$ a bit steep though!

True, but you can buy a o ring kit for the entire coolant system for like 10 bucks

It's 20$ cad on rock auto. aluminum upgrade one. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/.../+flange,11566

Also, I'm a DIYer since 2005, and I do everything on my cars since then; from clutch, transmission, exhaust, engine swap to small stuff like oil change.

and never the time it takes indicated on the internet was right.
People like to exaggerate, always double even triple the How-To internet time.

You know this is true when you ask for a quote to the German specialist indy shop and he fit +/- the time you'll take to do it.

yeah, it's a old and reliable web site.

Most stuff are in To warehouse, so no customs and fast shipping.
Sometimes you need to play with parts to get the cheapest shipping rate, but overall best price for canadian I found.

Also get a code online for 5% off.
