**NWS (just in case)- Hot Cross Buns

I know its not Easter yet and hot cross buns and easter eggs are out already but I want your view on something important...

The miswah thinks its strange when I put butter AND jam on my toasted hot cross buns. She thinks it "doesn't go together" and that its "normal to only have butter".

What do you think? Jam or no jam

Sorry its a burning issue for me and I need the reassurance that the rest of the population regularly applies conserve on their buns....

Please vote and support me as evidence

Paul can I stop you there, I think this should not be in "Off Topic" but in the main discussion area.

I like Bovril and butter on my buns, not a jam fan myself.

Will, that's fine but just because you don't like jam doesn't mean its weird for someone else having jam on their buns is it? You like butter AND bovril - therefore you are technically in the jam camp and should have voted for the first option

Viv, please consider moving this thread to the main section...

Jam mixed with a bun that contains fruit and cinnamon err...........no. No buts, it has to be butter Paul.

But if that's what you like then so be it........ be a boring world and all that.

A friend of mine has bacon and marmalade sandwiches - he loves them!

I was with you until you toasted it. Jam would be fine if you left them untoasted.

Ok Paul....I've thought about it...& I think there's got to be jam involved- possibly even a lashing of honey.

I wouldn't turn down a little melted butter on my buns. Not sure about jam, the pips get into all sorts of places.
